マルセイユに住んでいた頃仲が良かった友人のシリア人から、今日メールが来ていた。
彼はいつも英語でメールをくれる。タイトルは”for the good old days!”
彼曰く、” I too miss Marseille. Marseille is special for me, … I passed very nice time in it, I also had very good friends…, now the time has changed and the only thing that I have left is the souvenirs.”
彼は誇り高いイスラム教徒の歯医者さんで、私とは生まれ育った環境も宗教も考え方も著しく違う。それなのに、あれから4年たった今私たちが同じ気持ちでいるのが不思議だ。
